Police on Saturday got four days remand of arrested Imran Ahmad Ganai, aka Shahid Imran) who is running social media page –Kashmir Crown—in connection with an exhortation, officials sources said.

Imran Facebook page ‘Kashmir Crown’ editor was arrested by Police who was earlier obtained anticipatory bail in a case of extortion and intimidation was again detained by Police after new offences were added in the case registered under FIR following 164 statement recorded by the complainant in the Dangiwacha Rafiabad court on Saturday.

A police spokesman in a statement had said that Police Station Dangiwacha received an order from Court of law for lodging a case against Chief Editor Kashmir Crown Shahid Imran and Correspondent Ashiq Mir.

On this, a case under FIR number 145/2021 under sections 384, 385, 506 (1) 420 and 120B IPC, was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha, it said.

During the course of investigation one persons namely Ashiq Salam Mir, son of Abdul Salam Mir of Bagh Islam Baramulla was arrested yesterday and today Kashmir Crown’s Chief Editor Shahid Imran Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie of Ruhama Rafiabad was formally arrested, police said, adding that the investigation is going on.

The duo was arrested in connection with the case—(FIR no.145) under IPC sections of 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) which was registered in police station Dangiwachi against the duo.
