Tomorrow, the 24th of June 2021, is a day when entire Kashmir would be glued to their smartphones, wanting to know as to what exactly has transpired in the all party meet with the PM Modi.
Tomorrow, also reminds me of the Narsima Rao led UPA government…when we were offered plenty of latitude & the famous adage was “Sky Is The Limit”.
Then again, in Vajpayee led NDA government, an All Party Parliamentary Delegation came to talk to our leadership, & they snubbed them, squandaring what could have been a “golden moment” in the timeline of resolution of K-conflict.
Hisrory won’t be kind to us if we continue to tread the squandering path.I believe…if K-based political brass, cutting across party lines & ideologue, could set aside politicking for a change, & could rather choose to represent the true aspirations of Kashmir…tomorrow’s date with the PM Modi could very well turn-out to be a watershed moment in the polity of Kashmir
It then ought to be put it no non-sense terms, as to how a common Kashmiri feels about the Abrogation of Article 370 & 35-A…As to how the loss of Statehood is being perceived as an indignity by natives…As to how sidelining of mainstream K-based leadership, hitherto, has yielded no “economic development” & “social inclusion”, & rather has fostered greater alienation & deprivation.
It’s, therefore, rife time to break-away from the status quo ante, WRT; the model of Governance adopted since 5th of August 2019.Time to forgo mutual bitterness, & bow to the Democratic prerequisites of participation, inclusivisivity & mutual cohabitation.
Tomorrow, like most of the Kashmir, l too would be scrolling my smartphone, & hoping against the hope, that squandering of opportunities is snubbed, & statesmanship & sanity is graced.
