The road from Haft Chinar Chowk to Jehangir Chowk would be named after famous chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo who was killed by unknown gunmen on Tuesday evening in his medical shop at Iqbal park in Lal chowk.
Taking to micro-blogging site, Srinagar Mayor Junaid Mattu, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the road would be named after ML Bindroo as a tribute to his contribution to the society.
Mattu said a resolution to this effect will be formally proposed in the SMC General Council.
“The road from Haft Chinar Chowk to Jehangir Chowk (where Bindroo Medicate is located) will be named Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road as a tribute to his contributions to society. A resolution to this effect will be formally proposed in the SMC General Council. (sic),” Mattu Tweeted.
Notably, unknown gunmen fired at Bindroo, 68, when he was at his shop near Iqbal Park area of Srinagar, at around 7 pm on Tuesday.
Bindroo had received multiple bullet injuries and died on way to the hospital—(KNO)
