Baramulla, Dec 21 :

A leopard entered a residential area in Janbazpora locality of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, creating panic among residents. The leopard, roaming in the village, was captured on a CCTV camera.

Soon after spotting the leopard, locals informed the authorities concerned, following which a search operation was launched.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that as soon as they got the information, teams were rushed to the spot to locate the animal.

He said that operation was jointly launched by Wildlife and Forest department and their priority was to ensure the safety of residents.

He added that the if the animal is not located, the search operation will be closed due to darkness and will be resumed with the first light of the day.

The authorities have also advised residents to exercise caution and avoid venturing outside during night hours—(KNO)
