Srinagar, Dec 15 :

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the legal process must be allowed to take its course in the Pahalgam terror attack case, asserting that it is the court which will ultimately decide who is guilty and who is innocent.

Reacting to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) filing the chargesheet in the case, CM Omar, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, said, “As investigation has been conducted and the chargesheet is being filed. The decision will now be taken by the court. There is a law to determine guilt or innocence, and that responsibility lies with the judiciary.”

He reiterated that once an investigation is complete, the matter should be left to the courts. “As I have always maintained, whenever any action is taken or any employee is terminated, it should be left to the court. In the Pahalgam case, the NIA’s role was to investigate, and that investigation has now been completed. The chargesheet will be presented before the court,” Omar said.

It is note worthy to mention that on 22nd April, 27 people including 26 tourists and one local pony rider, lost their lives in a barbaric terror attack in Baisaran area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNC)
