Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha today interacted with Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh contingent of NCC cadets who participated in Republic Day Parade at New Delhi.
The Lt Governor congratulated the Cadets who got an opportunity to represent the UTs of J&K and Ladakh, and lauded the commitment of cadets and their training team, who, despite COVID-19 & prevailing Omicron did so well at the RDC events at Delhi improving their yesteryears performance & position.

The NCC Contingent this year comprised of 57 cadets selected from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. These cadets have put in their best to come up to the desired standards and compete with the best in the country. First time from JK&L Directorate, 16 Cadets were selected for Rajpath Parade, 04 for Guard of Honour and 03 Cadets have been awarded DGNCC Commendation Cards this year. Col Ravinder Singh, CO 3rd J&K Bn NCC, Baramulla was the officer in charge of the JK&L Contingent.

Terming NCC Cadets as the brand ambassadors of Unity, Discipline, Culture & Heritage, the Lt Governor called upon the youth of J&K to join organizations like NCC which inculcate discipline and spirit of amity and harmony. He stressed upon the need to step up the efforts on the part of NCC Directorate and Education Department to engage more youth in NCC activities, with special focus on border and rural areas. He emphasized that Youth has the power & potential to create positive changes in the society which is inclusive and sustainable and he said more than one lakh youth are to be involved in social service through the Volunteers program of Youth clubs. He stressed upon the need to eradicate Drug Abuse amongst the youth and our citizens and therefore urged the Cadets to become an active part of this Noble cause and mission.
Maj Gen Ranjan Mahajan, ADG NCC JK&L Directorate updated Hon’ble LG on various activities of NCC and also re-affirmed him that JK&L NCC will continue to remain engaged in developing character, discipline, and leadership qualities amongst the youth of the UT and foster the spirit of national integration.
The ADG NCC has also appealed to ex cadets and all those who have been part of NCC at any stage of their life to join the NCC Alumni Association ( link https://nccauto.gov.in/alumni) as the prestigious organization of NCC has also launched an NCC Alumni Association for the benefit of Cadets and its alumni to enable a wider networking amongst the Alumni fraternity and keep them updated with plethora of Opportunities both for Jobs in various leading Industries as well facilitating them to attend various NCC related Events/ Seminars/Interactive sessions etc both at District & National levels.
