Leh/New Delhi, Mar 5:

Reports have emerged from sources claiming that Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta has tendered his resignation from the post. However, there has been no official confirmation yet from the President’s Secretariat or the Ladakh administration regarding the development.

Kavinder Gupta, a senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state, assumed charge as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh in July 2025 after the resignation of Brigadier (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd).

Officials said that further details about the reported resignation and the possible appointment of a successor are awaited. The situation is expected to become clearer once an official statement is issued by the concerned authorities.(KNC)
