Initiative will cut costs, improve connectivity, and benefit local economy, says LG Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated the Joint Parcel Product–Rapid Cargo Service (JPP-RCS) parcel train at Budgam Railway Station, marking a new facility for transporting goods from Jammu and Kashmir to New Delhi.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the event, LG Sinha as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC said the train service will allow the transport of nearly 23–24 tonnes of apples and other perishable products directly to Delhi.

He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Indian Railways for the initiative, “”I am grateful to the Prime Minister and thank Indian Railways, a parcel train has started. Around 23-24 tonnes of apples and other perishable goods can now be transported to Delhi, which will be a big contribution.”

He said that the move will reduce costs, improve connectivity, and provide a significant boost to the Union Territory’s economy.

“This will connect Jammu and Kashmir better, and goods will reach other places at a lower cost. This will boost our economy,” LG Sinha said.(KNC)
