Kupwara, November 20,

Peoples Democratic Party leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Saturday said being the head of J&K, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha should take the responsibility of Hyderpora encounter in which 3 civilians were killed.

She was talking to reporters in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

In response to a question, Mehbooba Mufti said that LG manages whole Jammu and Kashmir and he is not the head of the administration but also is a representative of New Delhi in Kashmir and keeping that in view he should take responsibility of the Hyderpora encounter where 3 innocent civilians were killed.

She said it is the responsibility of LG to protect the lives of innocent people. “Dead body of another civilian Aamir Ahmed whose father has fought militancy has still not been returned. His body should be returned to his family. I think, such actions will have serious repercussions and will widen the gap between people and New Delhi,” she said.
