Srinagar, Feb 21 :

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Saturday administered the oath of office to Shantmanu as the State Election Commissioner at Lok Bhavan.

According to details available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the oath-taking ceremony was held after the Jammu and Kashmir Government announced his appointment to the constitutional post.

Earlier, the General Administration Department had issued an order appointing retired IAS officer Shantmanu as the State Election Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir. He has been appointed for a tenure of five years or until he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

The order further stated that the appointment would take effect from the date he assumes charge of the office—(KNO)
