Orders Reopening of 12 more Tourist Spots in J&K
7 tourist destinations in Kashmir and 5 in Jammu Division to be reopened from 29th September
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 26:
The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha today chaired Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar to review the current security scenario in Jammu Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo, DGP Shri Nalin Prabhat, GoC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, GoC 16 Corps Lt Gen P K Mishra, GoC 9 Corps Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat, Air Vice Marshal Vikas Sharma, AOC J&K, Shri S.J.M. Gillani, Special DG Coordination PHQ, Principal Secretary Home Shri Chandraker Bharti, ADGP CID Shri Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari, senior officials of Armed Forces, CAPFs, J&K Police, Intelligence Agencies and civil administration.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated Security Forces, J&K Police and Intelligence agencies for the recent successful anti-terror operations in the Union Territory.
“War against terrorism is not over yet. Kinetic and non-Kinetic operations must continue. We must maintain the momentum and take stringent action against terrorism and its entire ecosystem,” the Lieutenant Governor told the officers.
He directed the security apparatus for continuous improvement and to proactively adapt to evolving threats. The Lieutenant Governor called for ‘Whole of Government Approach’ for effectively tackling radicalization and drug menace.
After a thorough security review and discussion in UHQ meeting, the Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Friday announced reopening of 12 tourist destinations across Jammu Kashmir, which were temporarily closed as precautionary measures after heinous Pahalgam terror attack on tourists on 22nd April.
Of these tourist spots and religious places, 5 are in Jammu Division and 7 in Kashmir Division.
Aru Valley, Rafting Point Yanner, Akkad Park, Padshahi Park Bijbehara, Dara Shikoh Garden in Anantnag, Kaman Post, Eco-Park Khadniyar in Baramulla, Dagan Top in Ramban, Dhaggar in Kathua, Chinkah in Reasi, Shiv Cave in Salal, Reasi, and Padri in Doda to be reopened from Monday, 29th September.
