SOPORE, SEPTEMBER 26 :

Locals at Gurseer area of Sopore in North Kashmir during the intervening night of September 25/26 caught thieves when they were stealing apples from a local orchard.

Observing some movement during midnight, a joint chase was started and vigilant people caught hold of them and were handed over to the police, locals told.

While confirming the details, police said, the due were caught by the people and were later on brought to the police station Tarzoo.

They have been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Gaffar Sheikh and Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Gani Bhat both the residents of Sangri Colony Baramulla.

Vehicle bearing registration number JK04F 1604 used in the commission of crime was also seized.

Meanwhile, a case FIR No.109/2021 U/S 379 IPC has been registered and investigation taken up.
