Pune/Baramati, Jan 28 :

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others on board have died after their aircraft crash-landed in Baramati in Pune district, aviation authorities said on Wednesday.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the deputy CM was travelling along with two personnel (one PSO and one attendant) and two crew members (Pilot in Command and First Officer) when the aircraft went down during an attempted landing.

Initial information from the DGCA indicated that none of the five people on board survived the crash.

Rescue and relief operations were launched promptly at the Baramati airport crash site after the incident was reported in the morning.

Details about the cause of the crash are awaited from officials. (KNC)
