In a major administrative overhaul, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Division Baramulla has transferred nearly 700 field staff employees to different sub-divisions within the district. This move aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the department’s operations.
The Executive Engineer, PHE Division Baramulla, has issued transfer orders of around 700 employees. As per order most of the employee were posted in sub Division Baramulla and have not been transferred since years .
The move is aimed to restore transparency, ensure equitable manpower deployment, and address years of public complaints over absenteeism, favoritism, and service inefficiencies.
The executive engineer PHE division Baramulla while conforming the reshuffle order said that the decision has been taken to streamline the system for which overstay of employees was a major obstruction.
“Public service is a duty, not a privilege. The system must work for the people, not the other way around.” said Aijaz Ahmad, executive engineer PHE division Baramulla.
Transferred staff have been directed to join their new postings immediately, with non-compliance to invite disciplinary action under CSR rules, including suspension.
The department has appealed to the public for patience during the transition, assuring that efforts are underway to maintain continuity in water supply services.
