SSP Srinagar says accused arrested in swift action by police

Srinagar, Feb 11 :

Srinagar police on Friday said that they immediately arrested an person after he barged into a residential house in Momin Abad area of Batamaloo in Srinagar and tried to attack two girls.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal said that the accused person was arrested in a swift action by the police after matter was reported to them.

He identified the accused as Umer Yousuf Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Firdous Abad Lane No.15 in Batamaloo. “The accused had entered the residential house and tried to attack two girls inside the house, however, one of the girls raised hue and cry. Later, as the matter was reported to the police, we immediately swung into action and arrested the accused,” he said.

Meanwhile, Srinagar police in a Tweet said that crime against women will not be tolerated at all.KNS
