People allege fire tenders reached late that too without water, locals protest against fire service department

Baramulla, 03 Dec: Massive fire broke out in residential locality on Kanlibagh Baba Reshi road Baramulla in which a furniture factory and several residential houses have gutted and property worth Crore of rupees was reduced to ashes on Sunday late evening.

Witnesses said that fire broke out from a furniture factory in residential locality on Kanlibagh Baba Reshi road which spread to nearby residential houses in jiffy in which the factory and several residential house was completely destroyed.

People allege that fire service men were caught off guard as fire tender reached late on the spot that too without water. When fire tenders reached on theo run short of water within minutes which caused massive destruction and infuriated the local residents.

Ironically, the district fire station is just few hundred meters away from the spot but people allege that fire service department completely failed to control the fire as the fire tenders were empty. Though, Army men joined fire fighting operation but fire went out of control and massive fire was going when this report was being filed.

The cause of fire was not immediately known as cause of fire is being ascertained.
