Inspects several ongoing WSS in the District

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 24:

Mission Director (MD) Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering department, Kashmir today conducted an extensive tour of Baramulla district to inspect the progress of several ongoing water supply schemes.

During the inspection, Dr. Itoo reviewed the construction of various water supply schemes, including Delina, Duwaran and Mayan Uri. These projects, collectively costing Rs 20.93 crore, aim to enhance access to clean and safe drinking water for the residents of Baramulla.

The inspection focused on assessing the implementation progress, quality of work and adherence to timelines, and Dr. Itoo expressed confidence that most of the schemes will be completed by the first week of April 2024.

Later, the DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa and Mission Director Dr. Itoo jointly chaired a meeting of concerned officers and engineers at the Meeting Hall in Uri to resolve all the bottlenecks if any and to ensure the acceleration of the pace of work on projects under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

During the meeting the MD underscored that the primary objective of the visit is to address any impedance and hindrances that are being faced in the delivery of the projects across the sub-divisions of the district and directed the concerned officers and engineers to expedite the work on these schemes, emphasizing the importance of timely completion.

Meanwhile, the DC directed officers from concerned departments to carry out collaborative visits to project execution sites, highlighting the significance of on-site assessments in identifying and resolving obstacles that may impede project implementation.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri, Javed Ahmad Rather and other concerned officers and engineers were present in the meeting.
