Exchange of fire on in Pulwama encounter

Srinagar, Jun 21 :

A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Tulibal area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district while as exchange of fire between militants and government forces in Pulwama district.

A senior Police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that currently two operations are going on which includes one each in South and North Kashmir.

He added that so far one militant has been killed in ongoing operation in Sopore area while as exchange of fire is on between trapped militants and forces in Tujan Pulwama where two militants are believed to be trapped.

He further added that on specific inputs about the presence of militants, searches operations were started at Tulibal Sopore and Tujan Pulwama and both operations turned into encounter as militants fired upon search parties which was retaliated triggering encounters.

Pertinently, Kashmir has reported 16 encounters in ongoing month in which 26 militants have been killed so far while 115 militants have been killed in ongoing year so far—(KNO)
