Boniyar, July 30, 2025:
Honourable MLA Uri, Dr. Sajjad Shafi, today visited Government Higher Secondary School Boniyar to review the overall situation of the institution, including its infrastructure, staff availability, and essential requirements.

During the visit, Dr. Sajjad Shafi described the school as a modern higher secondary institution serving the needs of Boniyar and nearby areas. However, he also highlighted that several improvements are still needed to ensure better facilities for students and staff.

As part of ongoing development work, the MLA raised an important concern with the relevant department about the location of a newly planned classroom building. He stressed that the new building must be constructed in a place that does not affect the school’s playground. Recognizing that students and local residents were worried about losing part of the playground to construction, Dr. Sajjad Shafi immediately took action. He reviewed alternative spaces on-site and directed the department to finalize a suitable location beside the ground, ensuring that the playground remains fully available for students.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Sajjad Shafi emphasized the value of the playground, calling it a “main source of support” for students in Boniyar. He noted that such open spaces are essential for sports and recreational activities, and must be preserved and further developed for the benefit of the youth.

In addition, the MLA advised that anyone wishing to play volleyball, football, or take part in other sports activities must first seek permission from the school principal. This step, he explained, will help manage the ground properly and keep it organized for everyone’s use.

“Sports is the key to guiding our youth towards a healthy and positive path. We should support them by providing facilities, while also ensuring discipline and responsibility in how these facilities are used,” Dr. Sajjad Shafi said.

The visit reaffirmed the MLA’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and promoting sports and youth development in Boniyar, reflecting a broader vision for the progress of the Uri constituency.
