The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Wednesday clarified that Nasir Aslam Wani has officially been appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister through a official Government Order.

According to an official post on X office of J&K CM as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC wrote, “Some misleading reports are being circulated regarding the appointment of Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani as Advisor to the Chief Minister.”

Post further reads, “To clarify, Mr. Wani has officially been appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister through a Government Order. What remains pending are only the terms and conditions of his appointment, which have been unnecessarily delayed.”

However, this has not stopped his positive contributions to the governance of J&K, reads the post.

The statement comes amid reports quoting the Chief Minister as saying that the file regarding Wani’s appointment had not been approved by the competent authority (LG) and had been delayed for the past ten months.

CM in an interview said that that Wani holds no official status, government office, accommodation, or salary and is working voluntarily in his advisory role. (KNC)
