National Conference MLA Dr. Syed Bashir Ahmad Veeri is set to introduce three significant Private Members’ Bills aimed at environmental conservation and social justice in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to introduce on Tuesday.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, The Bill, Private Members’ Bill No. 23 of 2025, seeks to restore and safeguard the River Jhelum, ensuring its ecological sustainability through stringent waste management measures and penalties for pollution.

The second, Private Members’ Bill No. 25 of 2025, proposes to regulate and curb the destruction of Karewas caused by excavation of clay, sand, gravel, and other materials, aiming to preserve this unique geological formation.

The third, Private Members’ Bill No. 24 of 2025, intends to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004, to ensure better implementation of reservation policies in the Union Territory.

Dr. Veeri is set to formally introduce these Bills in the Assembly in the coming session, highlighting his focus on environmental protection, sustainable development, and social equity. (KNC)
