SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 26 :

Kashmir’s premier hospital Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical sciences (SKIMS) lacks portable X-Ray machines for critical Covid patients, the attendants of the affected have alleged.

An attendant said, “Our patient was advised an X-ray by a senior doctor, the patient is on ventilator and cannot move, there is no portable X-ray machine here, what are we supposed to do?” the attendant who identified himself as Mudasir Ahmad said. “A nurse told me that the machine is not working in the infectious disease section here.” He added.

He said that he went to the Controller’s room to complaint, “They told me they cannot shift the machine to Covid ward due to the threat of infection, in such a situation what can we do?” he questioned.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Farooq Jan said that he will look into the matter. (KNT)
