Amid Cold Wave across Valley, non-functional Central Heating System in Government Medical College Baramulla is irking Patients,attendants as well as Staff with bone Chilling cold.
General Public has been demanding Restoration of Central Heating System on Immediate basis & have sought Intervention of Anti Corruption Bureau towards the Serious Matter.
According to CNS, Despite Spending Huge Public Money Worth Crores on Central Heating System at GMC Baramulla but unfortunately during these Harsh Winter Days the Said Heating System is still non functional. however GMC administration has Put Some Individual Gas Heaters in Wards and Rooms which are still not sufficient.
Patients alleged that due to Minus Temperature and Cold Wave there is every threat to their lives Particularly Surgical Patients , they alleged due to non functional of heating System, Concern authorities are Playing with the lives of vulnerable Patients.
Meanwhile When CNS Contact Principal Government Medical College Baramulla Dr Ruby Reshi, She said that Heating System is non functional since many years, the Previous administration knew what has happened to this system, however we have provided some heaters and AC’S & we will add more heaters to hospital.
She Further added that despite repeated Correspondence mechanical engineering failed to make these radiators work.
“At the same time we have Minimum funds to Purchase fuel, so it is a complex issue and still we are trying our best to help our patients and their attendants within Minimum Resources”, she added.
Chief Medical Officer GMC Baramulla Dr Azmat told CNS that it is very unfortunate that Despite Bundles of Letters and Communications to Concerned Mechanical Department, they have failed to restore Central Heating System in the Hospital.
Meanwhile when CNS took up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bupinder Kumar (IAS) he assured that he will look into the Matter with regard to non functional of Central Heating System.
However, Concerned officials from Mechanical Department while refuting the allegations of GMC Authorities told CNS that they are not providing Disel to us how can we Start Heating System in the Hospital, they Further told that in IPD Block JKPCC has installed the System but till noe They have Not Tested the equipment Yet.
“in OPD, we have rectified all the Repairs to Central Heating System but we are waiting for Diesel From Hospital Authorities. once we will receive Disel then only we can Run Central Heating System in OPD Block”, they added.
President Doctors Association of Kashmir Dr Nisarul Hassan Malik While demanding the Immediate Restoration of Central Heating System in GMC Baramulla told CNS that by keeping Gas Bukharis in Wards we are Putting the lives of Patients into high Risk. Malik Requested Authorities to Start Central Heating System in GMC Baramulla on immediate Basis.(CNS)
