A tragic incident inside Police Station in Nowgam has claimed the life of Police Inspector Shah Asrar, prompting an outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes from colleagues, officials and community members.
Inspector Asrar, son of Habibullah Shah and a resident of Muqam Shahwali, as per GNS, was widely known for his courage, professionalism and compassionate approach to policing. Colleagues recall him as an officer who carried out his duties with sincerity and a deep sense of responsibility, earning deep respect within the force.
Many described him as a warm-hearted and dedicated officer who always placed public welfare above personal comfort. His passing, they said, has created a void that will be difficult to fill.
Condolences have been pouring in for the bereaved family as police officers, civil society members and locals continue to express their shock and sorrow.
The incident took place during an assessment of explosive material, recovered recently, inside Nowgam Police station area, leaving ten people dead and 29 others with injuries. (GNS)
