Asks LG Govt. to take more right steps in right direction to restore real normalcy in J&K

National Conference Vice-President and former chief minister J&K Omar Abdullah Thursday welcomed the allowing of 8th Muharram procession on Srinagar streets and asked Lieutenant Governor led administration to take few more right steps in the right direction to restore actual normalcy in J&K.
Talking to KNS, Omar Abdullah said that allowing 8th Muharram procession in Srinagar after a pause of three decades is a welcome step, but simultaneously there is a need to do more in the right direction to restore actual normalcy in J&K.
“It is a welcome step by the government to allow 8th Muharram procession in Srinagar after a gap of three decades. But at the same time there is a need to take few right steps in right direction to restore real normalcy in Jammu & Kashmir,” Omar told KNS.
“Simultaneously the Lieutenant Governor J&K should allow Friday prayers at Jama Masjid Srinagar, Eid prayers at Eidgah and release Mirwaiz Umar Farooq so that he will fulfill his religious obligations without any suffer,” Omar asked Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. (KNS)
