Srinagar, Sep 17 :

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday expressed grief over the passing of senior Kashmiri political leader and academician Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, describing him as a civil personality who upheld dialogue during challenging times.

CM Omar wrote in a post on X, as per news agency KNC , “Our political ideologies were poles apart but I will always remember him as a very civil person.”

“He had the courage to espouse the cause of dialogue when many believed violence was the only way forward. This even led to his meetings with then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji and Deputy PM Advani ji.”

Chief Minister offered condolences to Bhat’s family and prayed for his eternal peace, saying, “May Professor Bhat sb find place in Jannat.” (KNC)
