New Delhi, July 29 :
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed security forces for neautrilising pahalgam attackers in “Operation Mahadev.”
Addressing lok sabha PM Modi as per news agency Kashmir News Cornor – KNC said, Operation Sindoor was India’s befitting answer to the April 22 Pahalgam massacre that left 26 civilians, mostly tourists, and a pony operator dead. “When I speak of Vijayotsav, I speak of the destruction of terrorist headquarters. This is the celebration of fulfilling our pledge of Sindoor. I stand here representing the strength and resolve of 140 crore Indians,” he said.
‘We Promised to Reduce Terrorists to Dust And We Did It’, says PM Modi
Recalling his public statement post the Pahalgam attack, Modi said, “I deliberately used English so the world could hear clearly we will destroy the terrorists, hum aatankiyon ko mitti me mila denge — and that’s exactly what our forces did.”
The Prime Minister said Pakistan had sensed India’s intent and tried to use nuclear threats to prevent a response, but failed. “They issued nuclear threats but were helpless when our forces struck their terror hubs. Our soldiers taught them such a lesson that the handlers of terrorism are still sleepless,” he remarked.
PM Modi said, “In just 22 minutes, our armed forces demolished terror camps deep inside Pakistan Bahawalpur, Muridke and other hubs were reduced to rubble. We struck in places they thought untouchable. We turned their terror nests into ashes.”
PM revealed that Pakistan launched an unprecedented barrage of missiles and drones at India, but all were intercepted. “They fired 1,000 missiles and drones, but our air defence scattered them like straws. Their airbases are still in ICU after our strikes,” Modi said, adding that Pakistan’s lies about damage to Indian airbases, particularly Adampur, were exposed when he visited the site himself.
Laying out India’s new counter-terror doctrine, Modi said, “From Sindoor to Sindhu, India has made it clear if there is a terror attack on our soil, we will retaliate decisively, on our own timeline and in our own way. Those who sponsor terrorism will pay a heavy price.”
Referring to the joint strike that concluded on Monday, Modi said, “Yesterday, our forces concluded Operation Mahadev by eliminating three terrorists behind the Pahalgam killings. Yet some people mocked even this, questioning its timing. Is this the level of their frustration?”
Modi revealed that after suffering heavy losses, Pakistan pleaded for a halt to Operation Sindoor. “Their DGMO called us, begging, ‘Stop, we can’t take more.’ We made it clear our operation was limited, but by then, the message was delivered,” he said.
The Prime Minister noted that while India enjoyed overwhelming support from the international community, Pakistan was left isolated. “Out of 193 nations, only three supported Pakistan. The world stood with India, and no one asked us to stop our operation,” he said.
Modi accused Congress leaders of parroting Pakistan’s narrative. “They mocked me, calling Operation Sindoor a tamasha, questioned our forces, and politicized even Operation Mahadev. They can get headlines, but they will never win the hearts of Indians,” he said.
Modi said, “Operation Sindoor has sent a clear signal terrorists and their backers will be punished. This is not the end; there can be a comma, but never a full stop. India will strike when it must, as it must.” (KNC)
