Srinagar, November 5:

Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mohd Rafique Rather has lodged a formal complaint with the Returning Officer (RO) of Budgam by-election, alleging gross misuse of government machinery by National Conference (NC) leaders during their election campaign.

Mr. Rather stated that hundreds of government vehicles, along with official fuel, security, and protocols, are being openly used by NC leaders and ministers in Budgam. He further alleged that almost all NC MLAs have been deputed to the constituency to campaign for their candidate using official resources.

He urged the Returning Officer to take immediate and stern action to uphold the sanctity of the election process and ensure a level playing field for all contesting candidates.
