Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned district administration poonch for its unwarranted act to stop former Chief Minister and President PDP Ms. Mehbooba Mufti along with other Party leaders from visiting Village Topa peer Bufliaz poonch to meet the families of three civilians killed recently by security forces during interrogation.
In a Press statement additional Spokesperson of the Party Mohd Rafique Rather said that the display of highhandedness and dictatorial attitude of district administration is condemnable and unacceptable and questioned that how can administration facilitate smooth visit of BJP leaders and leaders of other political parties to the said village while obstructing the PDP’s compassionate endeavor to reach out to the familes of those killed and injured after being picked up by security forces.
Rafique Rather said that party calls upon the District Administration Poonch to immediately release the detained leaders, and ensure a fair and just investigation into the circumstances leading to the loss of precious lives by the hands of security forces and the unwarranted detention of Party President & Former CM Ms. Mehbooba Mufti and other party leaders not only reflects an abuse of power but also presents a grave violation of fundamental democratic values and rights: added Rafique Rather
