“We are expecting that two of the Prime Minister’s rallies will be held in Jammu, while one will take place in Srinagar,” Koul said, indicating the significance of both regions in the upcoming election battle.
When asked if Home Minister Amit Shah would also visit the Kashmir region, Koul confirmed that Shah will be on a two-day visit to Jammu starting September 6.
However he also mentioned the possibility of Amit Shah visiting Kashmir to raise the morale of BJP candidates and supporters.
“Yesterday, when our candidates filed their nominations in Srinagar, a large number of people came out to support them. It shows that people in Kashmir have faith in the Narendra Modi-led government and support the BJP for the Assembly elections,” Koul added.
Sources said that during Amit Shah’s visit, he is likely to release the BJP’s election manifesto and hold meetings with party leaders and workers in Jammu.
