As part of its continuous efforts to strengthen police-public relations and promote a drug-free lifestyle among youth, Police in Baramulla inaugurated a Police Cricket Knockout Tournament under the Civic Action Programme 2025 at Kalapahar Ground, Uri.

The event was inaugurated with the unfurling of the tournament trophy by SDPO Uri, marking the formal commencement of the competition. A total of eight teams from Sub Division Uri are participating in the tournament.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of senior citizens, students, and players, who also carried placards spreading the message “Say No to Drugs.” The opening match was played between Bijhama Warriors and Nambla Stars, setting an energetic tone for the event.

The initiative reflects the commitment of J&K Police to foster community engagement, channelize youth energy towards sports, and reinforce the message of a drug-free and healthy society.
