Jammu, December 12, 2025:
The Jammu & Kashmir Police is making comprehensive preparations to organise Jammu Marathon 2025” on December 28, 2025, at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).

  1. In this connection, a preparatory meeting was held today at APHQ Jammu, chaired by Sh. Anand Jain, IPS, ADG Armed J&K, who is also Chairman of the Organising Committee. During the meeting, Sh. Jain reviewed the current status of arrangements and issued detailed instructions to the officers concerned to ensure the efficient, secure, and successful conduct of the event.
  2. At the outset, Dy.SP Kuldeep Handoo, Sports Officer APHQ, delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, highlighting various preparedness measures, logistic framework, and the proposed activity schedule for the event.
  3. The Jammu Marathon-2025 is open to participants from diverse sections of society, including students from educational institutions across the region. The event will feature the following categories:
  4. 21 km Half Marathon (Men)
  5. 10 km Run (Boys) – Under 18 years
  6. 10 km Run (Girls) – Above 18 years
  7. 10 km Run (Junior Girls) – Under 18 years
  8. 10 km Run (Junior Boys) – Under 17 years
  9. 10 km Run (Veteran Women) – Above 45 years
  10. 10 km Run (Veteran Men) – Above 45 years
  11. 5 km Run (Sub-Junior Boys) – Under 14 years
  12. 4 km Run (Sub-Junior Girls) – Under 14 years
  13. 2 km Senior Citizens, Men, Women & Children
  14. After the conclusion of the event, a prize distribution ceremony will take place at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. This will be followed by raffle draw of chest numbers, where the first, second and third place winners will receive Cycles. Eight Registration Counters have been setup (06 in Jammu and 02 in Srinagar) for participants who wish to register for the event.

Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, CO SDRF 2nd Bn, Sh. Dalip Kumar, SSP, Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K, Sh. Rajinder Singh, SSP APCR Jammu, All Commandants of Jammu-based Battalions Dr. Rewa Gaind, I/C Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Jammu & other officers.
