Uri, 09 May 2024: A sea of voters was seen during the youth convention and rally of District President JKNC Baramulla, Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri at his residence in Uri on Thursday.
The conference highlighted the crucial role of young people in steering Jammu and Kashmir from the crisis-like situation, created by the present government, and pledged its commitment towards peace and progress of the state.The event was aimed at energizing and mobilizing young voters and was spearheaded by the esteemed leaders of the district.
The day’s proceedings began with a spirited rally at Uri market, where a large number of youths gathered to show their support.As the rally processed through the streets of Uri, it garnered attention and participation, reflecting the enthusiasm of the youth for the upcoming Parliamentary elections. Upon reaching the venue, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation for the speeches from the distinguished organizers.
Dr Sajad Shafi, DDC Boniyar Mohd Ismail Khan, Waqar Khan, and Javaid Beigh addressed the crowd, each delivering compelling speeches that underscored the importance of active political participation and the impact of the youth vote. The central message was a call to action for the attendees to support Omar Abdullah in the Parliamentary elections, highlighting his vision and commitment to the region’s progress.
“The present J&K government has failed in addressing the aspirations of the people, especially the youth, and the past ten years of rule has pushed them backwards in every sphere,” JKNC District President Baramulla Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri said while addressing a day-long convention in Uri. He said a decisive battle is needed to be fought against divisive forces, who have taken the central stage by exploiting regional and religious sentiments to further their myopic and nefarious political agenda.
“This can be possible only when youth will come forward in a big way and help in changing the political discourse by forging unity and strengthening the bonds of amity between different segments of society and different regions of the state,” he said.Dr Sajad said that NC is the only party that can meet the challenges confronted by the state, adding that a concerted drive will be undertaken to sensitize the people about the wrong policies of the present government and failure on all fronts.
“Youth can play a bigger role in making the government deliver, as development has come to a grinding halt and administration is in a paralytic mode due to lack of political direction,” he added. The youth convention proved to be a success, setting the stage open for youth involvement in the political landscape and underscoring the significance of the upcoming elections.
