Jammu, Feb 11 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed continued protests on Wednesday as BJP legislators intensified their objection to an alleged remark made by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the ongoing Budget Session.

According to news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), BJP MLAs termed the reported comment as inappropriate and against the dignity of the House. Raising slogans inside the Assembly, the members demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw the remark and tender an apology. The protest led to a brief walkout by the BJP legislators.

However, the BJP members later returned to the House and reiterated their demand for an apology. They stated, “Let the CM come forward and say that it was a slip of tongue, express regret, and apologise.” Despite the noisy scenes and continued protests, the proceedings of the House carried on. — (KNC)
