BARAMULLA, AUGUST 31:

A condolence meeting was held today at the residence of president Punjabi Sahit Sabha Baramulla.

Condolence meeting was held at 10 am today regarding the untimely death of a renowned Punjabi Writer of JK Ichupal Singh of Ghoun village of Baramulla district.

In the said meeting the contribution of the writer towards the betterment of Punjabi language and literature was highlighted.

Various amalgams of writers associations expressed grief and shock over the sudden death of Ichupal Singh, members prayed for the departed soul and expressed their sympathies with the deceased family.

He was a former Editor of Punjabi Magazine ” Sheraza” of Jammu and Kashmir academy of art culture and languages Jammu, said Prof Satwant Singh, Principal GDC Tangdar.

It is learnt that the deceased writer was awarded by the Punjabi Sahit sabha Baramulla for his contribution in the field of art culture and linguistics.
