Srinagar, July 6:
Ab Qayoom Wani, Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Civil Society Forum and President of Pensioners United Front, has made a strong appeal to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) to extend the application deadline for the Junior Engineer (Civil) posts advertised under Notification No. 03 of 2025, dated April 24, 2025.
Wani expressed serious concern over the challenges faced by aspirants, particularly those applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category and other reserved groups. “Due to the technical malfunctioning of the UDID portal since June 6, candidates have been unable to obtain the mandatory disability certificates. This has unfairly deprived many deserving youth of their right to apply under the appropriate category,” he said.
He further highlighted that recent regional disturbances and connectivity issues have severely disrupted the online application process in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In view of these genuine and unforeseen difficulties, I urge the JKSSB authorities to extend the application deadline by at least two weeks so that no aspirant is left out due to technical or administrative barriers,” Wani said.
He emphasized that such a step would not only uphold fairness and transparency in the recruitment process but also reaffirm the JKSSB’s commitment to inclusiveness and justice.
Wani also appealed to the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to intervene and ensure that all youth, particularly those from vulnerable sections, are provided with an equal opportunity to compete for government employment.
