SNS KASHMIR

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 16 :

Vakil was addressing party workers in Srinagar today said that the working of Delimitation Commission is already under question for favoring a particular political party as is reflected in their draft proposals.

“I also fail to understand why the names of constituencies like Sangrama, Shangus have been changed & even Rafiabad has been renamed as Rohama Rafiabad , What purpose does it serve? Vakil added that Zainageer area in Sopore deserves a separate Constituency but it is surprising that it has been divided & a big part of constituency has been added & included to Rafiabad without any logic – while as many areas in Jammu with very less population have been carved out as constituencies.

The senior leader said that with this exercise, the Delimitation Commission seems to be working under the diktat of particular party’s ideology and are hell-bent to make demographic changes in J&K as was feared during the unconstitutional revocation of Article 370.

But he warned that such anti-Kashmir policies of ruling party will backfire and will not be in any way in the interest of the country.

“For how long will you test the people of Kashmir. This continuous disenfranchising of people of Kashmir will further widen the gap between Delhi and Srinagar,” Vakil added

Abdul Gani vakil appealed delimitation commission to call all parties meet & to get their views in order to make delimitation purposeful and meaningful. He also demanded a separate  constituency for zainger area as it deserves in every respect.
