Srinagar, Aug 12 :

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that even a single individual can bring significant change if determined to do so.

Addressing people after the Tiranga Rally in Srinagar, the CM, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, said, “Usually we say, or hear from others, that what one can change being alone, but remember the days when we were not allowed to hoist our flags at homes.”

He said that earlier the national flag could only be hoisted at government properties. “One person embarked to change this. From where he got this motivation? He went to the US for studies, saw his peers having flags of their countries in their rooms, but he could not do it. He came back, started fighting, went to courts, secured the decision to allow hoisting at home,” Omar added.

“The gist is one can bring change by their own. We should uphold the prestige of the national flag, it is our identity, we should respect it,” the CM said. (KNC)
