BANDIPORA ,FEBRUARY 18 :

The Sarpanchs and Panchs of local Panchayat body of Nowgam Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district today locked BDO office and held protest.

Protesters alleged that the unavailability of BDO has brought all the developmental works to complete halt.

According to reports reached to CNS, that the protesters assembled near Block Development Office Nowgam and locked down the BDO Office.

“Block Development Office will remain closed unless BDO is assigned the work,” they said.

The Sarpanchs and Panchs were demanding intervention of higher authorities. They said the concerned BDO who has been assigned three additional charges prefers to stay at his other posts thereby ignoring Nowgam Sumbal.

They said in the absence of BDO, people are suffering immensely.
“We suffer in the absence of a BDO. Our bills are pending just for want of signature of the BDO. We urge higher authorities to intervene in to the matter and direct concerned BDO to join duties in Sumbal on Priority basis,” said the protestors.(CNS)
