As: In a distressing incident, seven people, i@0ncluding two children, were injured in a stray dog attack in the Mazgam village of Boniyar Uri area of Baramulla district.
According to eyewitnesses, panic gripped the Manzgam village after a pack of stray dogs attacked the people suddenly and inflicted injuries on them. The victims were immediately rushed to the Primary Health Center Sheeri for treatment.
However, due to the severity of the injuries, they were rushed to Associate Hospital GMC Baramulla for further medical attention. One of the injured persons had to be referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
The attack has spread panic in the Manzgam Boniyar area, and locals are blaming the increasing number of stray dogs for the incident. They have urged the district administration to take immediate action to dispose of the stray dogs and prevent any further incidents.
The locals in the area have expressed their concern about the increasing number of stray dogs in the area, which has created an atmosphere of panic and urged the district administration to take immediate steps to control the increasing population of stray dogs.
“The rabid dog attacked Abdul Razaq and injured him critically and later it attacked students returning from school besides other people including two women sustained seriously injuries,” an elderly eye witness said.The incident has brought to light the urgent need for the authorities to address the issue of stray dogs in the area.
“It is crucial to ensure the safety of citizens, especially children who are more vulnerable to such attacks. The district administration must take immediate action to control the increasing population of stray dogs and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future,” said Sajid Khan, a local social activist.
Medical Supritendent Associate Hospital GMC Baramulla Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi said,”We received seven patients of dog bite from Manzgam village including two male, three female and two children. After examined the patients were given first aid along with anti-rabies vaccine and anti- rabies serum .”
“Among them one patient was referred to SMHS hospital for plastic surgery consultation,” he informed
The injured were identified as Naseema, Ayan Mushtaq, Fakeer Khan,Razaq Teli,Nasreen Begum,Seerat Majeed and Zareefa residents of Manzgam.
