Municipal Committee Magam here in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday demolished two shops and sealed couple of structures including a shopping complex.
Municipal Committee Magam carried out the demolition drive after the complaints about the existence of illegal structures in the town.
Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Magam told KNT that they faced stiff resistance from the aggrieved shopkeepers. He alleged that despite being informed, the higher-ups didn’t provide sufficient manpower to conduct the drive.
He said besides the demolition of some shops, a shopping complex belonging to one Mehboob Hussain Sofi has been sealed. (KNT)
