Srinagar, Aug 12 :

The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Tuesday carried out searches at multiple locations in Srinagar in connection with the 1990 abduction and killing of Kashmiri Pandit woman, Sarla Bhat, officials said.

A top official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the SIA teams, assisted by police and CRPF, launched simultaneous raids at eight sites across the city early in the morning.

The searches were still underway till reports last came in, with no immediate details about arrests or recoveries.

The case pertains to the abduction and killing of Sarla Bhat in April 1990, during the peak of militancy in the Valley. (KNC)
