Anantnag, July 30 :

Health authorities on Wednesday confirmed six cases of jaundice among students at Government Middle School Sheikhpora Sallar in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, triggering concern among locals and school authorities.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, several students were brought to PHC Sallar, after showing symptoms of illness, and tests later confirmed the presence of jaundice.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Anantnag Dr Naseer Khan told Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that a special medical team has been dispatched to the school to determine the source of the infection and implement preventive measures. “We are closely monitoring the situation, and necessary steps are being taken to contain the spread,” the BMO said.

Authorities have taken cognizance of the matter. (KNC)
