SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY,23 :
In a powerful demonstration of medical readiness ahead of the prestigious Khelo India Winter Games 2026 in Gulmarg, the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Monday executed a high-intensity emergency preparedness drill, showcasing its capability to respond swiftly to any critical situation during the national sporting spectacle.
Director SKIMS Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa, personally supervised the large-scale simulation that rigorously tested helipad readiness, emergency landing response, activation of Emergency, EOT and ICU facilities, and rapid deployment of critical care ambulances under the Disaster Management framework.
The drill underscored seamless inter-departmental coordination, rapid stabilization protocols, and the fast-tracking of critically ill patients — sending a strong message that SKIMS stands fully prepared to safeguard athletes, officials and visitors during one of India’s biggest winter sporting events.
