SOG COP’S ATTACKED BY CRIMINALS DURING EARLY MORNING SEARCH IN MAGGAR KHAD AREA;ONE ACCUSED ARRESTED:Police

On 07.08.2022 police team of PS Lakhanpur alongwith SOG Party headed by DySP Operation Kathua Sh. Tilak Raj Bhardwaj JKPS and SHO PS Lakhanpur Insp. Vijay Kotwal were conducted early morning search in Maggar Khad area in the jurisdiction of PS Lakhanpur in veiw of forthcoming Independence Day.During search at about 0630 hrs. a mob of few persons led by 1.Mohd. Sharif S/o Lal Hussain R/o Maggar Khad Tehsil & District Kathua 2. Shadu s/o Meedu R/o Maggar Khad Tehsil & District alongwith other persons with criminal intention attacked with lathies, sharp edged weapons(Tokas) as well as pelted stones on police party in order to kill and commit murder as they were just performing their legitimate duties. Due to which some police personnel got severely injured. In order to disperse the mob, police party fired some warning shots in air for self defence and thereafter the police team succeeded to detaining one person namely Mohd. Sharif s/o Lal Hussain R/o Maggar Khad Tehsil & District Kathua alongwith sharp edge weapon(Toka).Thereafter a case vide FIR No. 70/2022 U/S 307/353/332//147/149/IPC, 4/25/Arms Act has been registered at PS Lakhanpur and investigation taken up besides the search to nab other accused person is going on.
