Says will visit twice in a week for the people of Sopore

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar on Thursday said that Sopore is on the priority list of the district administration with regards to the development.
While addressing a gathering at Dak Banglow Sopore, DC Baramulla said that she would love to visit Sopore twice in a week to listen to the issues and grievances of people.
She said that soon after joining the district, she made her maiden visit to Sopore.
She praised Sopore MC Sopore especially President Masrat Rasool Kar for her work towards development and added that much has changed and more efforts are needed to make Sopore a more developed town.
She talked about a garbage dumping site also which is long pending demand for the people of Sopore said that will direct all the officers to work on it so that a sigh of relief will be given to the people.
Talking about ‘Tangas’ Dr Sehrish said that tangas are not only in Kashmir it’s also in foreign countries but the problem here is that owners of such tangas are not taking steps for saving the environment and are affecting the environment at large.
She directed Municipal Council authorities to play an important role to not only convey Tanga owners but guide and educate them too for the facilities to be made available so that environment will be saved and their daily livelihood ll also need to be affected.
While appreciating the efforts of students who threw light on pollution and ways to save earth through different skits including the old famous Ladishah, DC Baramulla said that it is the need of the hour to boost the confidence level of the students so that they can achieve milestones in their career.
The DC Baramulla on the occasion also directed ZEOS and MC President to organise such programs on drug abuse also.
Pertinently, Municipal Council Sopore kick- started an anti- polythene drive to enforce blanket ban on single-use of plastic.
