Sopore, Sep 12:
The Sopore Working Journalists Association (SWJA) has formed a body to represent and strengthen the voice of journalists working in the region.
In the newly constituted body, Mehraj ud Din Lone (ANN) was unanimously elected as President, while Aabid Nabi (Daily Excelsior) was elected as Vice President. Suhail Khan has been chosen as Secretary, Waris Fayaz (KNO) as Spokesperson and Mohammed Ayoub as Treasurer.
The Association reiterated its commitment to uphold the principles of free, fair and responsible journalism while working collectively for the welfare of its members.
The elected office bearers assured that they would continue to work towards addressing the issues faced by journalists in Sopore and further strengthen the association.
