Three militants of Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit were killed in an encounter in Check e Cholan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday.
Official sources told GNS that three militants of LeT were killed in an encounter with security forces. The identity of the slain militants is however yet to be ascertained.
The firing has stopped and the bodies being retrieved from the site – when this report is being filed.
Earlier, reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation Check E Choland area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. (GNS)
