In view of rise in crime against women, a safety squad for women was deployed in Parrypora area of Srinagar on Thursday in order to ensure safety for women folk.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the police have deployed squads in parts of the city where there are a prominent number of coaching centres.

“The women squad has been deployed in the coaching hub of Parraypora and Baghat areas to ensure safety for the girls studying in the coaching centres.”

The statement reads that in cases of stalking, harassment, teasing or any unwanted advancement by delinquents girl students can approach to the cops.

“These squads will also be directly in touch with administrators of the educational institutions and coaching centres for immediate action in case of any emergent requirement,” it added.

Notably, Srinagar police launched two women’s safety squads to ensure safety and security of women in the city.
