BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 24 :

Scores of villages, which get electricity from Panzigam receiving station in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district have been plunged into darkness due to a technical snag.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that inhabitants of Onagam, Watpora, Qazipora, Putushai, Khayar, Laharwalpora Watrina and Barzula are reeling under darkness due to the technical snag.

The residents complained that electric supply was snapped on Saturday and the villages are still without electricity.

Meanwhile, an official said that 6.3 MVA Power Transformer has developed technical snag and the replacement of same is being arranged and may take a couple of days.

He said that till that time the power supply to the areas fed from this reciving station shall remains off.

Meanwhile, the villagers have urged the LG administration to look into matter so that power supply will be restored as soon as possible. (KNS)
